You made it out of the room. That should have been the end of the story, and it is only where the story starts to turn nasty.

On the other side of that door there is a whole house, and the house is lockedtoo. Another prisoner tells you what has been going on all along: you are a test subject. Someone built the puzzles, someone is watching, and what that person wants is not to see you leave. It is to see how you react while you try.

The Safe is the direct sequel to The Room, released in 2007. The mechanics are the same, point and click, search the scenery for items, solve whatever blocks your way, and the examine eye is still there, exactly as you learned it in the first game. What changed is the scale and the tone. There are several rooms now, there are living people to talk to, there is a dead one to find, and the game is

much less interested in easing the mood with a joke.

It is bilingual: you can play it in English or in Portuguese, both have been in the game since 2007.

Nothing to install, no plugin, no Flash Player. It runs straight in the browser through Ruffle, a Flash emulator.

If you have not played the first one yet, start there. This sequel gives away its ending on the opening screen.
